Teaching young minds to design what comes next
If design is a way of thinking rather than a subject, it should not wait for university. UVO is our attempt to put futures literacy, design thinking and AI judgement in front of students while it still shapes how they see the world.
We spend our working lives helping large organisations respond to change they did not anticipate. It is difficult, expensive work, and a surprising amount of it comes down to a capability that was never taught: the ability to look at the present and see what is moving.
That capability is learnable, and it is learnable early.
Design as a way of thinking
Curiosity, observation, imagination, experimentation, human-centred problem solving. None of these require a design career. All of them make a student better at whatever they eventually do — and much harder to displace by a machine that is excellent at answering questions nobody bothered to interrogate.

Why AI literacy belongs with it
AI literacy taught alone becomes tool training, and tools change. Taught alongside futures thinking and design judgement, it becomes something durable: knowing what to ask, what to check, and when the confident answer in front of you is wrong.
An evolving platform
UVO is not a design school and not a fixed curriculum. It is a learning platform we are building with schools, educators and ecosystem organisations, and it is deliberately unfinished — the subject matter will not hold still, and neither should the programme.
